Membership terms

The service

Keep Small Business provides a customizable membership badge, a public profile page that links to your website, and related account tools. The service is operated by Redwood Internet LLC ("we," "us"). "Keep Small Business" is our brand name for the network and product.

Who may join

Membership is for independently owned businesses that are not a dominant player in their category. When you sign up, you represent and warrant that your business meets this standard. Keep Small Business does not audit or certify independent status; eligibility relies on member attestation and ongoing review. We may decline, suspend, or remove membership if a business does not fit the program, misrepresents its status, or harms the integrity of the network.

Independently owned includes sole proprietors, partnerships, small ownership groups, LLCs, and privately held small corporations. It does not include subsidiaries of large companies or national chains.

The service is not intended for large enterprises, national chains, hyperscale platforms, or businesses whose primary value is reselling membership rather than operating an independent business.

We gauge the scale of a member's web presence from monthly unique visitors to pages that display the badge (see our privacy summary for how we count). We use that traffic both to apply plan limits and to determine whether a business still fits a program built for independent small businesses.

Your account & profile

• You are responsible for your login credentials and activity under your account.
• Profile information you publish (business name, website, description, optional badge hover statement, logo, and similar fields) may be shown publicly on your profile page and through the badge.
• Optional badge hover statements and similar profile text you provide are member-authored and not verified by Keep Small Business.
• You agree to provide accurate information and keep it reasonably up to date.
• You may not impersonate another business, use misleading branding, or display the badge if you are not an active member in good standing.

Plans, trials & billing

• Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly through our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
• Starter and Growth include a 60-day free trial for new qualifying subscriptions unless otherwise stated at checkout. High Traffic does not include a free trial unless we offer one explicitly.
• Yearly billing is charged upfront at the listed annual rate (equivalent to two months free compared with paying monthly for twelve months).
• Plans are sized by monthly unique visitors to pages that display your badge. If you exceed your current plan's limit, we may ask you to upgrade or reduce badge placement until usage is within your tier.
• High Traffic is our highest published plan (500K visitors / month). If your badge traffic consistently exceeds that level, we may determine that your business no longer fits the program and may suspend or end membership, even if you have already upgraded.
• You may cancel through your account billing settings. Cancellation stops future charges; access generally continues through the end of the current paid period unless we state otherwise at checkout.
• We do not charge commissions on your sales. Fees are flat subscription prices only.

Badge & brand use

While your membership is active, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive license to display the Keep Small Business badge on websites and properties you control, using the embed code or assets we provide. You may not modify the badge in a way that misstates membership, remove required links, or use our marks to imply endorsement beyond membership in the program.

If your membership ends or is suspended, remove the badge from your site promptly.

Acceptable use

You may not use the service for unlawful activity, spam, malware, harassment, fraud, or attempts to interfere with the platform. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe harm members or the public.

Disclaimers

The service is provided on an "as is" basis. Displaying the badge does not guarantee traffic, sales, or search ranking. We do not audit every member business; visitors should use their own judgment. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Our privacy summary explains what we collect and how we use it. Account holders can also review privacy information in the app.

Changes & contact

We may update these terms or the service from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
